Today we’re officially 38 weeks along. 37 weeks is considered “term”, so any time the baby could come. I honestly didn’t expect us to get to 37, let alone 38.
As I said in the previous post, Grandma got here today in anticipation of our pending arrival. We need an extra pair of hands to watch over the kids in the middle of the night, and having someone sleeping one room over is just the best possible solution. Mom had to get up this morning just after 6:00am to make her flight.
Last night we had an odd episode with Kaitlyn were she woke up in the middle of the night and we couldn’t get her back to sleep for close to two hours. She finally ended up spending the night in bed with Amy and I. She slept OK (minus the couple hours she was up), but Amy and I spent the majority of the night getting punched and kicked by a roaming 2 year old. Needless to say, neither of us slept particularly well.
Kaitlyn missed her nap today, and Jared’s was “abbreviated”.
Needless to say, it’s 10 o’clock, and everybody is ready to be sleeping. Work and school start fresh first thing in the morning. Until then, time for some zs.
My Mom just got into town. She’s going to be staying with us for a while to help us out with the kids when the new baby comes. Amy is 35 weeks today, so we’re in the final stretch. None of our kids have made it the full 40 weeks. Daniel was the closest at 38 and 4. Kaitlyn was the earliest so far at 37 weeks. We’ve already gotten all of our stuff setup so that when the baby arrives, she’ll have a place to sleep and be able to ride in the car. Now, we don’t to wake up her siblings if she decides to show up in the middle of the night.
All that’s left is to sit back and wait for her to gift us with her presence.
Weirdly, it’s still raining. It’s been cloudy and raining now for the better part of a week. My mom is going to be coming to visit for a while this weekend, and she’s going to think that we moved to Seattle. So strange.
We just officially moved out of our old house and into a new place. When we moved into our old place, it didn’t have a washer/dryer, so we had to buy one (or just have very dirty clothes). Our new house has a washer/dryer, so we asked our old landlords if they wanted to buy the washer/dryer from us to keep in the old house. They declined, so today I had to go and get them from the old house.
We don’t really have a place for the washer/dryer in the new house, so I had to put them in the garage where we’ve been parking the car. Then it started to rain. And it’s been raining. The entire rest of the day. I checked the forecast, and it’s going to continue to rain all week.
It figures, the one week that I’m not able to put our car in the garage will be the week that it’s going to rain the entire time.
Another new year is upon us. I just wanted to take a brief moment to wish everybody a happy and healthy 2016! Everything has been going well in the Stone house. We have a new little one due in a matter of weeks, and her siblings are anxiously waiting for her to join us. Amy’s job is going well, as is mine. Nothing really new to report there. All of our respective parents are well and enjoying themselves. All in all, 2015 was a pretty good year. I’m looking forward to 2016 and new things in all of our lives.
